alessandra chiappinimixed mediaAlessandra Chiappini, a painter born in Piacenza in 1971, obtained a diploma in painting with full marks at the Fine Arts Academy of Brera (Milan), with a philosophic-mythologic thesis about Dionysus that became the subject matter of a lecture series. She exhibited in many group exhibitions in Piacenza, Milan, Como, and Venice. One of the most important was "Pain in art" (Napoleonic Hall, Brera, 1994), which had an Electa catalogue. On that occasion "Il Corriere della Sera" and the magazine "Amica" published the photo of "Altar to Dionysus" that Guido Russi on Amica defined "a touching image, that reminds of the birth of the god from the bowels of the earth". The work of Alessandra Chiappini is often inspired to mythologic or antropologic archetypes and tries to evoke them through compositions of many drawings or pieces of drawing reassembled to form one image. So the vegetable becomes animal and human in a stream of vitality. Recently she won the critic prize at the exposition "Under 30" in Piacenza. She is teacher of drawing and painting at the Wood Restoration Institute of Piacenza. She exhibits in the online galleries Artists Village of Upper Atlington (Ohio, USA) and ArtNetGallery of Hjarup (Sweden). She has been selected to take part in the 1999 edition of the Contemporary Art Biennal exhibition of Florence. She works in her studio in Via Roma, 228, in Piacenza (tel. 0039/0523/332050) alechp@tin.it. More information at Alessandra Chiappini's web gallery. |
